Kolkata Knight Riders have beaten Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets with 59 balls to spare as Rinku Singh finishes it off with a six! What a performance this has been! The defending champions played with absolute dominance and at any point, did not let Chennai Super Kings gain any sort of control of this game. This is the first time CSK have lost five matches in a row in the IPL! After being asked to bat first, CSK could score just 103/9, a target which would have never been a winning one with a batting line up like that of KKR. For KKR, it was their third win in six matches while CSK slumped to their fifth straight defeat. A comprehensive performance, the star of which was Sunil Narine who stood out with both bat (44 off 18) and ball (3/13). It was not a happy homecoming for MS Dhoni as captain. Apart from Sunil Narine, Varun Chakaravarthy (2/22), Harshit Rana (2/16), Moeen Ali (1/20) and Vaibhav Arora (1/31) were amongst the wickets while for CSK, Shivam Dube (31) and Vijay Shankar (29) made substantial scores. In the run-chase, apart from Sunil Narine, Quinton de Kock scored 23 runs off 16 balls while Ajinkya Rahane (20*) and Rinku Singh (15*) remained unbeaten as KKR moved to the third spot on the IPL 2025 points table with a performance as emphatic as this. Noor Ahmad was CSK's best bowler bowling two overs with one wicket and conceding just eight runs. But KKR clearly outshined CSK in the battle of spinners and would be pretty confident after a performance like this! They take on Punjab Kings on April 15 while CSK will take on Lucknow Super Giants on April 14.

Shivam Dube is the key for CSK here as they aim to get a substantial score on the board. Eight wickets down and three overs to go, he has to shift gears and hit some boundaries in quick time or else CSK can be restricted to below a 100 even! KKR will be very happy with how things have gone for them.

11 Apr, 20:52 (IST)

OUT! MS Dhoni has been trapped lbw! The whole of Chepauk has been stunned as CSK continue to slide into deeper trouble. MS Dhoni came forward to push the ball on the leg side but missed it and was struck on his pad.
