Steve Smith is blazing guns at the Ashes 2019 and once again has proven his mettle by scoring yet another century during the series. The right-hander reached his hundred on the second day of the fourth Test Match which is currently underway at the Old Trafford in Manchester. This is his third hundred in the series and fifth in the last eight innings against England. Needless to say that the netizens hailed the feat and praised him for the same. After winning the toss, Australian elected to bat and lost a couple of early wickets and dented the side. But Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne were the ones who displayed the nerves of the steel and took the team to a stronger position. Marnus got out on 67 but Smith kept on fighting hard and scored a hundred before lunch on day 2.

With this, Steve Smith broke several records with the century. The Australian overtook Steve Waugh to score the most number of centuries in Ashes. Smith now has 11 centuries whereas, Waugh has 10 in his kitty. He also took fewer innings to reach his 26th hundred and overtook Sachin Tendulkar. Smith took 121 innings to reach his 26th century whereas, the Master Blaster took 136 innings.
