Talking about the same, Surbhi in a statement to Bombay Times, said, "Ishqbaaaz was my first lead actress outing on television. It is difficult to receive the kind of popularity that Anika and the whole show enjoyed over the years."
She went on to say, "And it is important to note that in addition to Anika, I played numerous characters on the show. The character had many shades and it was interesting that regardless of the ratings or viewership, everyone knows what Ishqbaaz is all about. People know the characters, sets, clothes and the story of the show," further adding, "I will have to learn to stop living Anika now."
